The World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Programme 2026 is now accepting applications from talented African nationals pursuing or recently completing a PhD.
This fully funded, six-month fellowship offers a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development, policy, and research at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Running from January to June 2026, the program is open to candidates under 32 years old from eligible African countries.
Applicants must be in the final year of their PhD or have completed it within the last three years. Fields of focus include economics, public policy, education, climate change, data science, and more.
Fellows will work directly with World Bank experts, contribute to real-time development projects, and receive mentorship from global professionals. The fellowship covers airfare, consultant fees, and living expenses.
